Community Calls For Police Protection

THE people of Obodogba community, Okpanam Kingdom in Oshimili North Local Government Area, have requested for Police protection at their meeting scheduled to hold Saturday May 17, 2025, at Umuosume Hall, Obodogba community, Okpanam, starting from 9am.

In the letter dated May 16, 2025, and addressed to the Divisional Police Officer ( DPO), Okpanam Police Division, they appealed to the police authority to send a detachment of officers and men, to provide security for the protection of lives and property within the meeting venue, Obodogba community and Okpanam Kingdom in general. As indicated in the letter, some devious elements have threatened to cause mayhem, chaos and take unpredictable steps that may lead to the breakdown of law and order in the community on the said date.

In the letter signed by the Chairman of Obodogba community, Chief Paul Nwayalani, the community identified eight persons who were behind the planned threat to breach public peace in the community. The names of the eight persons whom are alleged land grabbers is already with the police as stated in the letter.

Obodogba community in their request for police protection, emphasized that as law abiding citizens they do not want to take the laws into their hands, hence the call for police protection.
