THE Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor, Rt. Hon Solomon Funkekeme, has assured the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) that the Service remains the engine room of governance.
He made the remarks when a delegation from ASCSN, Delta State chapter, paid him a courtesy call in Asaba.
Funkekeme said the Delta State Government has had a mutually beneficial relationship with the workforce over the years, enabling the synergy to create a regime of industrial harmony.
“We cannot over price peace. Every good thing that is happening in our state is a result of peace. Governor Sheriff Oborivwori has played federal politics to bring the central government’s presence to the State”, he said.
Noting that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has kept his campaign promises by bringing the dividends of democracy to every doorstep, he called for the deepening of the partnership to enable the present government to run his M.O.R.E Agenda initiative to its fullest.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Henry Okafor, commended the Oborivwori administration for prompt payment of workers and wages as at when due.
Okafor appealed to the state government to create an enabling environment for training and retraining of the workforce to be acquainted with modern facilities.
He appealed for portable housing unit and transport system that will reduce stress for the workers in trying to fulfil their constituted responsibilities.
