Bursary: Delta Lawmaker Moves To Empower 76 Indigent Students

No fewer than 76 indigent students of Burutu II Constituency have been selected for the 2025 edition of bursary allowances by the member representing the constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Pereotu Oloye.

Flagging off the exercise, which involves online credit alert to the beneficiaries, Hon Oloye said the gesture is in line with his resolve to prioritise education and human capital development in Burutu II Constituency.

The lawmaker, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Urban Renewal, explained that the 76 indigent undergraduates are studying in various higher institutions across the country.

“It will be recalled that in July 2025, I undertook a comprehensive data collection exercise, conducted in three batches, to identify indigent students deserving of my bursary intervention.

“Today, the first batch of 76 students has received credit alerts to support their educational progress in line with my academic goals in Burutu II Constituency”, Oloye said.

Highlighting the laudable achievements of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration in the state’s education sector, Hon. Oloye pointed out that his intervention demonstrates a commitment to aligning with the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda of the State Government.

The Lawmaker pledged irrevocable support for educational development in THE State, particularly in the Burutu II Constituency, where he represents in the State Legislature, saying that education remains a key priority in his empowerment initiatives.

Hon. Oloye, who enjoined constituents to remain resolute in their support for good governance and unhindered development in the locality, promised to continue providing the constituency with effective representation.
