Armed bandits have shot dead, a driver and attacked passengers along the Galadimawa–Tumburuku Road in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State
This was reported by Zagazola Makama, a security and counter insurgency publication on their verified X account (formerly Twitter) that the incident occurred at about 8:40 p.m. on December 16 when unknown gunmen blocked the road and opened fire sporadically.
As at the time of this report, all efforts to reach the Police PRO in Kaduna State was unsuccessful.
According to Makama, “The attackers targeted a Golf vehicle, conveying four passengers.”
The driver, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, was fatally shot and later certified dead at a nearby hospital.
Other passengers in the vehicle, Rabiu Lawal, aged 30, Binta Salisu, aged 40, Balkisu Yahaya, aged 30, and Karima Yusuf, aged 40, were rescued and evacuated to safety.
Relatives of the deceased have been informed. Troops, in collaboration with sister agencies, have intensified efforts to track and apprehend the perpetrators, while investigations into the incident are ongoing. People in the area have been urged to exercise caution and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
