The management of Asaba Specialist Hospital, Delta State, has raised the alarm over the dubious activities of a group of scammers who opened an illegal portal advertising job vacancies in the Hospital, while posing as a recruitment agency on behalf of the hospital.
Findings by newsmen showed that there was online advertisement for 33 job vacancies at Asaba Specialist Hospital tagged ‘February 2026 Recruitment, Internship’.
In the said advertisement, 33 vacancies were listed to be available.
But in a sharp reaction, the management of the hospital disclaimed the advertisement.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Hospital, Dr. Peace Ighosevwe in a press statement, said, “The attention of the Management of Asaba Specialist Hospital has been drawn to a false publication alleging that the hospital is recruiting nurses and other staff.
“This information is completely false, misleading and did not emanate from the hospital”, she stated.
She further clarified that any legitimate recruitment exercise by the hospital would be officially announced through recognized government channels, reputable media organizations, and the hospital’s authorized communication platforms, WITHOUT DEMANDING ANY FORM OF PAYMENT from applicants, stressing that the hospital does not recruit agents to conduct recruitment but rather conducts recruitment through government approved due process within the hospital facility.
