THE Nigerian Army has rescheduled the 89th Regular recruits’ intake (RRI) screening exercise for Trades/Non-Trades men and women in Delta State.
A statement by the Director-General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Oghenesivbe, the screening of shortlisted candidates will now take place from Sunday, 8th to Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Cenotaph Complex, , Asaba, , beginning at 7am daily. He said the new date supersedes the previous dates, while urging all shortlisted candidates to take note of the reversed dates.
Dr Oghenesivbe further disclosed that a total of 691 candidates of Delta State origin; the highest number since inception, have been shortlisted for the screening exercise, adding that Delta youths are responding positively in their large numbers to actively serve Nigeria through the military and paramilitary services, after low turnout spanning over a decade.
He said the state Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has directed members of the State Awareness Committee on Youth Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary services, to be on ground at Cenotaph Complex to assist the 691 shortlisted candidates during the screening exercise in terms of logistics and welfare, among others.
According to him, the state government will provide buses at strategic locations across the three senatorial districts to convey shortlisted candidates to and from the screening exercise, while successful candidates shall proceed to Zaria immediately for training
Dr Oghenesivbe advised shortlisted candidates of Delta State origin to bring along with them the original copies of documents necessary for the screening exercise, emphasizing the need for mental and physical wellness without history of hypertension, high blood pressure and epilepsy disease.
