THE Dein of Agbor Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Benjamin Ikechuku, Keagborekuzi I has urged the leadership of Agbor Community Union (ACU) to remain focused in the implementation of its policy document aimed at inspiring peace and sustainable socio-economic growth and development of Agbor.
Dein Ikechuku gave the advice over the weekend while playing host to members of the newly elected Executive Committee of Agbor Community Union, led by the President-General, Prof. Onyemaechi Ugboh, who paid him a courtesy visit in his Palace in Ime-Obi, Agbor.
The monarch, who applauded the peaceful conduct of the election that led to the emergence of the new Executive Committee of Agbor Community Union, harped on the need for all parts of Agbor Kingdom to be carried along in the scheme of things.
He particularly commended the resilience and patriotic commitment of the President- General, Prof. Ugboh, to the development of Agbor Kingdom, adding that he should maintain cordial relationship with the palace, just as his predecessor, late Chief Larry Onyeche did in his time.
According to him, members of the new Executive Committee of the ACU should consolidate on the achievements recorded by the late Chief Larry Onyeche led Exco, adding that they should place high premium on peace building and sustainable development in Agbor Kingdom.
The Dein implored the people of Agbor to put the same energy with which they took part in the ACU election, into partisan politics so as to expand the frontiers of their political participation with a view to attracting more dividends of democracy to the Kingdom.
Earlier, the President General, Agbor Community Union, Prof. Onyemaechi Ugboh had told the monarch that members of the new executive committee of the ACU were in his palace for a courtesy visit and to unveil the policy document of his administration to him. Prof. Ugboh expressed appreciation to the monarch for providing an ambience that led to a seamless conduct of the Agbor Community Union election, adding that members of the new Excowere eternally grateful to him.
He promised to deepen collaboration with the monarchy as well as well-meaning sons and daughters of Agbor kingdom so as to accelerate the tempo of growth and development of Agbor Community.
Reeling out the 12-point agenda contained in the policy document, Prof. Ugboh said the ACU “shall rally round the crown to promote the peaceful co-existence of every Agbor son and daughter”.
He assured the monarch that he would run an all- inclusive administration where everyone would be carried along in the scheme of things irrespective of political and religious inclinations.
