THE Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty Prof. Epiphany Azinge has showered praises on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, for what he described as impressive infrastructural development at the institution.
Azinge gave the commendation when the Vice-Chancellor, accompanied by members of the university’s management team, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace.
Welcoming the delegation, the monarch congratulated Prof. Chiemeke on her achievements since assuming office, noting that he was particularly impressed by the state of facilities he observed during the second inaugural lecture of Prof. Etuna Mbah, which he attended at the university.
According to the Asagba, the visible development of basic infrastructure on the campus was a clear indication of purposeful leadership and commitment to building a solid academic environment at UNIDEL.
The revered monarch also acknowledged the convocation invitation extended to him by the university and assured the Vice-Chancellor of his attendance or full representation should his tight schedule prevent him from being physically present.
Azinge expressed appreciation to the university management for finding him worthy of an award to be presented during the forthcoming convocation ceremony, describing the event as a crowning glory that should awaken collective consciousness and leave a lasting impression.
Urging the Vice-Chancellor and her team to remain focused, the Asagba encouraged them to continue soaring to greater heights as they pilot the affairs of the university..
Earlier in her remarks, Prof. Chiemeke had expressed gratitude to the monarch and palace chiefs who attended the second inaugural lecture at UNIDEL, describing their presence as a great honour to the university’s leadership.
She used the occasion to formally invite the monarch to the institution’s forthcoming maiden convocation ceremony and informed him of an award to be conferred on him during the event.
