Inferno Victims In Delta Seek Govt Support

Victims of the recent devastating fire outbreak in Ozoro community, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State have called for assistance from the state government, well meaningful individuals and organizations in order to mitigate its adverse effect.

While grieving over the huge loss caused by the unprecedented inferno, the owner of the biggest fabric shop in the building, Mrs. UzuazomaroOlize, an indigene of the aforementioned community valued her goods at worth millions of naira, adding that the fabrics were of different price range.

According to her, the fire spread with a terrifying speed that there was hardly enough time for them to savage the situation, adding that not even a fabric was recovered, including sewing machines, as the entire building was engulfed in flame.

Speaking with our correspondent, a close relative of the victim, Comrade Onakome Michael, who confirmed the unfortunate incident,  described it as tragic, painful and unpleasantly complimenting the yuletide season for the affected families.

He disclosed further that apart from the properties and goods that were totally consumed, no life was lost, adding that the fire started at the early hours of the morning when business activities was still in its lowest peak, as most shop owners were already on vacation to celebrate the new year.

He added that for such incident to occur in a period when the people were already struggling to survive the harshest economic conditions thus far calls for immediate response and possible measures that will not only reduce their grief but also help them to get back on their feet.

Though as at time of filing this report, the cause of the fire outbreak which had drained down the livelihood of the some families was still being investigated by the Isoko North jurisdiction of the Nigerian police force.
