LEADERS and critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East Local Government Area have unanimously adopted the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, as the sole candidate for the Ethiope East House of Assembly seat in the 2027 general election.
The adoption followed a strategic meeting hosted by the Deputy Speaker at his Eku country home, where leaders from the eight federal wards in Agbon Kingdom gathered to deliberate on party unity and electoral success in the new year.
The meeting was well attended by prominent APC leaders across the local government area, including the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerovwo Tonukari; the Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe; former state and federal lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Akpodiogaga Emeyese; Chief Faith Majemite; Chief Ogbetuo; Chief Mike Adiotomre; Chief Adu; Chief James Omeru; Chief Ben Edoja, Chief Alex Imarah; Chief Collins Eboh; Chief Lucky Emojeya and Chief Okpubigho.
Others are Chief Hon Julius Eguvwebere; Engr. Samson Anomi; Chief Lady Rose Esiso; Mrs. Bravo; Chief Stephen Ohurhu Ejovi; Chief Omojiriemu Vincent Ideh; Chief Mrs. Tessy Toro; the Leader of the Ethiope East Legislative Council, Mr. Emojeya Emmanuel, as well as all councillors of Agbon extraction, and other local, state, and federal appointees.
The motion was moved by Chief Pa Godwin Ogbetuo, seconded by Rt. Hon. Akpodiogaga Emeyese, and put to a voice vote by the Council Chairman, Ogedegbe, where it received unanimous approval.
In his acceptance speech, the Deputy Speaker expressed deep appreciation to the leaders and stakeholders for their cooperation, unity, and unwavering support for the administration of, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.
