Foundation Holds Free Medical Outreach For Asaba Residents

AT least 55 persons, including women and children benefited from the AGCare Foundation Free Medical Outreach Programme. As part of the organisation’s Christmas package and New Year surprises for residents of Delta State.

The two-day outreach, organised by the AGCare Group through its Foundation, provided free medical services valued at over ₦50,000 per beneficiary. It also included the selection of patients for free surgical procedures estimated at up to ₦500,000 per patient.

The initiative took place at the AGCare Specialist Clinic, Asaba. During a visit to the facility, The Pointer observed active medical consultations across various departments, including the vitals check unit, waiting area, laboratory, and doctors consulting rooms, all filled with patients receiving care.

Speaking, the Founder of AGCare Group, Dr. Chukwuka Monye said the programme was part of the foundations commitment to giving back to society and improving access to quality healthcare, particularly during festive periods when many families face financial challenges.

He explained that AGCare was established to bridge gaps in society through healthcare, social care, and educational support initiative.

“One of the reasons AGCare was set up was to address several societal gaps. AGCare is an organisation that cares. We have healthcare services, social care, and a foundation that supports people who need help in education and other areas.

“What we are doing now is powered by the Foundation. Periodically the foundation intervenes to assist individuals who cannot afford medical care, stressing the importance of preventive healthcare.

“As we enter the New Year, many people focus mainly on celebration, but it is important to check your health. Many people are unaware of their medical conditions, and most illnesses are better treated when detected early,”

“It’s not bad to enjoy food during the festive period, but we should eat wisely. There are creative ways to balance our diets and avoid injecting junk into our system” he said.

Dr. Monye also advised residents to adopt healthier eating habits during the festive season, urging moderation and the consumption of more natural foods and drinks.

Some beneficiaries of the outreach, including Mr. Sunday Ike, Mr. Emeka Otutu, Ms. Ada Abubakar, and Ms. Mochu Obioma, described the initiative as a Christmas premium package.

According to them, the programme covered comprehensive medical procedures ranging from vital checks, weight and blood pressure measurements, consultations with doctors, laboratory tests, and follow-up diagnoses, all at no cost.
