Wife of the Delta State Governor and Founder, You Matter Charity Foundation, DcnsTobore Oborevwori, on Tuesday reaffirmed her commitment to promoting family values, cultural harmony and women’s advancement across the state.
She made the pledge on Friday during the 2025 End-of-Year Banquet organised by her office for wives of traditional rulers in the state.
Addressing the gathering, Deaconess Oborevwori expressed appreciation to the Queens for their steady support to their husbands and their vital roles in maintaining peace and cultural cohesion in their various kingdoms.
She said the banquet was organised to celebrate their contributions during the year and to further strengthen the relationship between the state government and the traditional institution.
The First Lady restated that the You Matter Charity Foundation would continue to champion programmes aimed at uplifting women, improving community welfare and fostering collaborations for sustainable development.
She urged the Queens to remain unifying figures and strong voices in their domains.
Deaconess Oborevwori also commended the Queens for their cooperation throughout the year, assuring them that her office remains open for continuous engagement and support on initiatives that enhance community wellbeing.
Earlier in the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Mobilization, Mrs Eunice Anirah welcomed the guests on behalf of the First Lady.
While acknowledging their presence, she urged them to emulate the Biblical Esther by standing in the gap for their families and various kingdoms.
Highlights of the event included the presentation of special gifts by the First Lady to the Queens, a gesture that elicited warm smiles and deep appreciation from the women.
An interactive session was also observed, during which issues bordering on cultural preservation, girl-child education, women’s welfare, community development and domestic peace were discussed.
The Queen mothers, about 120 of them praised Her Excellency for creating a platform where their concerns could be addressed, noting her unwavering commitment to programmes that strengthen families across Delta State.
Giving the vote of thanks, Queen Ofejiro Ogbogbo of Ozoro Kingdom commended the First Lady for her hospitality and generosity. She described the banquet as enriching and prayed for God’s continued guidance and wisdom upon Her Excellency.
The ceremony ended with photographs, light moments and renewed bonds of sisterhood, marking a memorable close to the year for wives of traditional rulers in the state.
