AN indigene of Ogwashi-Uku kingdom, Prince Azubuike Osakwe, says peace love and unity is panacea to development. He made the remarks during a chat at Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State. Osakwe said Ogwashi-Uku people are peace loving, adding that the Community is known for peace from cradle. While saying that Ogwashi-Uku
is a famous community, he said it is the headquarter of Aniocha South Local Government Area, which was created since 1910 and yet lacked development, describing the situation as unfortunate.
He said Ogwashi-Uku had notable sons and daughters home and abroad, appealing to the entire indigenes of Ogwashi-Uku to join him in the fight to restore total peace at Ogwashi-Uku. Osakwe said crises, disunity, hatred and envy had retarded development for so many years, opining that development does not go to a place of rancour and disunity.
He noted that peace and unity are the wheel on which development manifest, appealing to the people of the area, the high, the mighty, the rich and the poor to join hands and support his peace initiative to return the desired peace to the locality.
He appealed to the Governor of Delta State, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Inspector General of police, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala to come to the aid of Ogwashi-Uku kingdom by assisting to make his peace initiative succeed.
He lauded the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Council, Pastor Jude Chukwuwike for his interest and promise to support the peace initiative, describing him as a peace-loving leader. According to him, the youths of Azagba-Ogwashi, the landlord Association and its chairman, Mr. Tony Obi were prepared to work together with the Committee to ensure peace in the area, commending then for their support.
