The Member representing Ika North East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, has extended her legislative commitment to the education sector by distributing essential learning materials to 1,000 pupils across public primary schools in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The distribution exercise was designed to support young learners as they resumed a new academic session. The items shared included exercise books, pencils, school bags, and other learning materials aimed at easing the financial burden on parents while promoting academic excellence.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Okowa-Daramola stressed that education remained a powerful tool for development, adding that every child deserved access to quality learning resources.
“These children represent the future of our constituency and our state. By equipping them with the right tools, we are not only supporting their education but also laying a strong foundation for a brighter tomorrow,” she said.
She explained that the initiative was part of her broader vision to invest in the future of Ika North East through empowerment and educational support.
Parents, teachers, and community leaders present at the event commended the lawmaker for what they described as a timely and impactful intervention. They noted that the gesture would not only motivate pupils to take their studies seriously but also ease the financial strain on families.
