- Vow Continuous Prayers For him, Delta
Widows in Aniocha North Local Government Area have hailed the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, as a promise-keeper, commending his administration’s commitment to their welfare through the Widows’ Welfare Scheme.
The widows made the remarks during the continuation of the Widows’ Welfare Free Medical Health Scheme registration held at Issele-Uku, headquarters of Aniocha North.
The scheme, initiated by Governor Oborevwori, is being implemented through the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Social Investment Programmes, Chief Isioma Okonta, in collaboration with the Director-General of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC), Dr Isaac Akpoveta.
It provides monthly stipends and free medical care to widows across the 25 local government areas of the state.
Speaking at the event, Chief Okonta commended the Governor for his people-oriented leadership, describing him as compassionate and committed to the well-being of the poor and vulnerable, particularly widows.
In appreciation, the beneficiaries offered prayers for the Governor, his family, and the state, asking for continued peace, progress, and divine protection.
Dignitaries present included Delta North Monitor, Paul Osemele; Executive Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Hope George; Chief Henry Ifeogwu, Training Officer; and Lady Ebele Sedenu, the Local Government Coordinator, among others.
