Delta HoS Commends Aghedo As He Retires From Civil Service

THE Head of Service of Delta State (HoS), Dr. Mininim Oseji, has congratulated the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Housing, Mr Emmanuel Aghedo on his retirement from the State’s Civil Service. Dr. Oseji, who was visibly excited to receive the Permanent Secretary on a courtesy visit to her office, commended him for sacrificing so much in the state civil service and wished him peace and happiness as he proceeds on his well deserved retirement after 34 years of meritorious service to the state.

She thanked God that Mr Aghedo was retiring in good health even as she urged him to “retire to refire.”

Advising him on the need to remain active at retirement, the HoS encouraged him to take on new hobbies which may include swimming, playing of Golf, reading of books and playing indoor games and to keep interacting with loved ones at home.

Earlier, Mr Aghedo in his speech, thanked Almighty God for giving him the grace to serve in good health until retirement.

He also commended the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for granting him the privilege to serve as a Permanent Secretary and the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for appointing him as Permanent Secretary in 2021 in the midst of Covid 19.

Disclosing that he came into service on the 20th of August, 1991, Mr. Aghedo said that he worked in various

Ministries such as Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Commerce and Industry; Arts, Culture and Tourism; Lands and Survey; Office of the Commissioner, Peace and Conflict Resolution; Ministries of Works, where he was appointed as a Permanent Secretary and Housing, where he had worked until retirement.

While commending his mentors, colleagues and subordinates, Mr Aghedo encouraged them to keep the fire of work burning as they do their best in the Civil Service of Delta State.

A luncheon was also organized by the office of the Head of Service for four recently retired Permanent Secretaries.

They include Permanent Secretaries, Office of the Head of Service, Mr Maxwell Awuse, Science and Technology, Dr Ejiro Ogheneaga, Culture and Tourism, Mrs Angalaere Arthur-Prest Umukoro, and Housing,

Mr Emmanuel Aghedo Emmanuel. The luncheon was held at Elomaz Hotel, Asaba and was attended by some invited members of the College of Permanent Secretaries including the Chairman and Secretary of the Welfare

Committee, Dr Ngozi Mogbolu and Mr Fred Yoro.

Other Dignitaries present at the ceremony were the Permanent Secretaries, Office of the Head of Service, Mr Wilson Chukwuka, Energy, Mrs Felicia Reno-Orugbo, Functioning PS, Directorate of Establishments and Pensions, Mr Kingsley Olomukoro and some Directors in the office of the Head of Service.
