Delta Community Set To Celebrate Ine Ahor Festival

TO promote peace and unity in their community, the people of Onicha-Uku Kingdom, in Aniocha-North Local Government Area of Delta State, are set to celebrate their annual Ine Ahor Festival in grand style.

The Ine Ahor Festival holds a special place in the culture of the people, and would kick-start with the Ine Uchichi (watch night celebration). The event is marked with night of prayers, songs, drumming, and communal reflection before  the dawn of the festival, creating a sacred atmosphere of anticipation.

The highlight of the celebration is known as Ine Efifie, and will feature a rich display of tradition and entertainment, following Ina Aka by ndi Olinzele Ógbódó (council of elders), a symbolic rite rooted in ancestral heritage.

Meanwhile, Comrade Emma Mukolu disclosed that Ukukpé, a cultural performance would showcase the identity and values of the Onicha-Uku people, including performances by various live bands, blending traditional rhythms with contemporary music to entertain indigenes and guests alike.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mukolu emphasized that the Ine Ahor Festival is not just a cultural gathering but a unifying force that brings together sons, daughters, and friends of Onicha-Uku from across the globe.

He said that it serves as a platform to reaffirm peace, promote unity, and highlight the kingdom’s commitment to sustainable development, while visitors and well-wishers are warmly invited to join the Onicha-Uku Kingdom in this colourful celebration of heritage and unity.
