Onochie’s Death, End Of An Era, Monumental Loss —Son

THE Chairman of Umu-Osume Youths of Obodogba Quarters, Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Benjamin Onochie has described the death of late Mr. Obiajulu Onochie as end of an era and a monumental loss to Okpanam community.

Speaking with journalists during the burial ceremony at the deceased country home, Okpanam Onochie said that his father impacted the children and the society positively.

Onochi said that the deceased was a wonderful father and brave man , adding that he was an uncommon disciplinarian and very truthful at all times.

While saying that he and his siblings would miss the wisdom and fatherly advice they were receiving from their father when he was alive, Comrade Onochie noted that he had continued to be guided by the principles of fairness, humility , respect and discipline he inherited from his father.

In his remarks, the District Head, Celestial Church of Christ in charge of Issele-uku down to Okpanam, Evang George Ekpokpo explained that the deceased was a devoted Christian and a man of integrity.

Ven. Ekpokpo admonised the children to follow their father’s footsteps by embracing God in totality and live in peace with one another , stressing that they should strengthen the unity that their father exemplified.

Also speaking, the first son of the deceased, Godwin Onochie and the first daughter, Stella Onochie , noted their father lived a life of emulation as a disciplinarian, noting that he inculcated in his children virtue of love, unity and contentment.

The duo stated that their father prioritized issues concerning security of lives and properties , recalling that as a former chairman of Okpanam Vigilante Organization, there father contributed his quota in strengthening security in Okpanam community.

The burial was attended by people from all walks of life including chiefs from Asaba and Okpanam, various security Organizations in Okpanam and youths organizations within the community among others.
