DELTA State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, has bagged Award of Most Resourceful Leader of the Year.
The award, which was presented to him at the weekend during Women at the Wee of Living Waters 4th Annual Global Convention. Tagged ‘Africa Arise’ at Inspiration Garden Hotel Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area was in recognition of his tremendous contributions in governance and other sphere of life.
Receiving the award, Sir Onyeme said it would inspire him to do more just as Governor Oborevwori through his M.O.R.E agenda was spreading more development across the State .
He noted that, the Women of the Wee of Living Waters’ desire to build maternity hospital, skill acquisition center among others, shows that the body seriously want to collaborate with the State government in bring development to the people.
Sir Onyeme maintained that the state government was ready to partner with anybody or organisation that want to develop the State.
According to him; “the award will inspire me to do more and of cause doing more is in line with the theme of the present government of Delta State called M.O.R.E.”
“Our agenda is called M.O.R.E Agenda, so inspiring me to do more by your gesture this afternoon is only telling me that you are seriously going to collaborate with Delta State government.”
“Your desire to build a maternity where women will be attended to for free especially those that are member of this organisation is a good one.”
“As a government that is what we are looking for, people that will collaborate with the government because government cannot do everything. I assure you that t Delta State will be happy to work with you”.
Earlier, the Global Trustee of Wee of Living Waters, Rev. Fr. Innocent Ekeagwu, said the body has been partnering with government at all level, both international or local.
He noted that, their mantra is endless possibilities adding” giving voice to voiceless, approaching women because training a woman is like training a nation,” he stressed.
