DSCHC Takes Quality Healthcare Training To Delta Central PHC Workers

BY JUMAI NWACHUKWU

AS part of ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery under the Delta State Health Insurance Scheme, the Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC), has extended its capacity-building training to Primary Healthcare (PHC) workers in the Delta Central Senatorial District.

The training, which took place in Ughelli, drew participation from over 300 healthcare personnel working across various PHC facilities in the district.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, noted that the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has made significant investments in the health sector.

He emphasized that it was the Commission’s responsibility to ensure these efforts translate into tangible benefits for the people, particularly enrollees under the health scheme.

Dr. Akpoveta expressed satisfaction with the high turnout and active participation of the PHC workers. He charged them to apply the knowledge acquired to improve healthcare delivery in their respective centres, ensuring enrollees receive the best possible care. Participants lauded the Commission for introducing new innovations that will make their work more effective. Many acknowledged that the training helped clarify areas where there had previously been confusion, and they pledged to apply the new knowledge to improve service delivery.

With similar training sessions already held in Delta North and Delta Central, anticipation is building among PHC workers in Delta South Senatorial District, who are preparing to receive their own phase of the training.
