Two Brothers Missing, Others Injured After Herdsmen Deadly Attack In Delta Community

Two Brothers amongst others are now missing and many others injured after armed Herdsmen attacked Abah-Unor Community in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, leaving at least 13 persons dead, houses burnt, scores of people injured and a host of others displaced.

Narrating the ugly incident to newsmen who visited the village after the attack by herdsmen,a relative to the victims, Mr. Gospel Ilomechine, gave their names as Okobia Franklin Obinna and his younger brother, Precious Jindu Okobia.He said the two brothers went missing after the attack on August 19, 2024 and all efforts to find them proved abortive with no positive results so far. According to him, they were last seen in the early hours of the said day on their way to their farmland, along with other villagers, and ever since then nothing have been heard as regards their whereabouts, despite search on nearby bushes their whereabout remain unknown.

Mr. Gospel added that their mother who had also lost her husband some time ago also suffered severe injuries from the attack and was greatly distressed, and yet remain hopeful that her two sons must not die.

The now lone mother, is greatly troubled and with the help of Mr Gospel, had reported the matter to the police to help locate her sons. With tears in her eyes,she appealed to the state government and other security agents to come to their rescue as they were in distress, and anguish.

Speaking to another member of the community who pleaded anonymity, he described the attack as unfortunate and one of the deadliest they’ve ever encountered in the recent time. “my family is still no where to be found, I have searched virtually everywhere I could for them but still nothing, no news, no words, nobody has seen or heard anything about their whereabout , my livestocks, my house, everything gone. Now tell me what to do, this is a shame, a slap on our faces and a total disaster “He used the medium to call on the state government to help end the neferous activities of herdsmen on the community and provide them with more adequate security.

Mr.Gospel called on the police and members of the general public with useful information on the whereabout of the victims to make it available to the family or the police to enable them reunite with their family if found.

Recall that this very Herdsmen attack was one of many attacks by armed hoodlums on the community and its environs, saying that many people in the area have abandoned their homes and flee for their dear lives.
